What is Dark Matter Literature? How does Douglass use it to tell the whole story of reality? The main character of her novels is the Dark Matter Goddess. A deity of everything we cannot see, she is the counterpart to the God of visible matter.

Douglass' novels explore the idea that people, ideas, and even whole realities are suppressed, and are thereby rendered invisible. Nevertheless, they shape everything we know.

Her magical realist novels below are currently in progress.

"I say to you, invisible from the other side of your dark matter void: I arise the same, though changed. And you, who have done the same for me, stand behind me, similarly weighty, similarly imperceptible. An exchange of sleeping knowledge frees us from the prisons built by gene colliding with gene, continent with continent, century with century. The compass points north and south, cold and hot, dark and light, all one, Beloved, at last all one."
